In 30 years of practice as a psychologist, I have helped many clients with depression, anxiety, grief, family and work stress, and relationship problems. I am also interested in helping people cope with the psychological impact of health issues and have worked with many women with breast cancer.
Feedback from clients is that it is easy to talk to me, I have an attentive and interactive style, and that my office provides a comfortable environment. Since I believe that a good match (chemistry) between a therapist and client is one of the most crucial aspects of a successful therapy experience, I encourage people to set up an initial consultation appointment as a first step in seeking help.
I have been trained in many different approaches to therapy (psychodynamic, mind-body, mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral, relational) and try to tailor my approach to the needs of each individual. While most sessions involve helping people talk about their concerns, I also incorporate non-verbal approaches such as relaxation, imagery, and self-hypnosis when they seem appropriate. I am also very knowledgeable about other community resources which can be helpful additions to therapy.
I very much enjoy my work as a therapist and feel privileged that people share their lives and struggles with me.
