Co-sponsored by SCCPA, SMCPA, and CPA.  Approved by the Judicial Council of California for Child Custody Evaluators Required Annually Per California Rules of Court 5.225, 5.230
These courses can be used as part of the initial 40 hours required to become an Evaluator

 

The California, Santa Clara, & San Mateo County Psychological Associations are sponsoring two Webinar trainings for currently qualified and prospective child custody evaluators.  An 8-hour training will be held on July 23rd and 24th, 2022 and will focus on the needs of polarized children of divorce, relocation evaluations, Chinese and East Indian families, a risk model for children on the autistic spectrum, and current legal issues. 

A 4-hour domestic violence training will be held on July 24th, 2022 and will focus on parent-child contact problems, family systems interventions, trauma, and legal issues related to coercive control and retaliatory filicide. 

These trainings have been approved by the Judicial Council of California toward initial training hours to become a child custody evaluator and annual update training for existing evaluators.

CPA is co-sponsoring with SCCPA & SMCPA. The California Psychological Association is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CPA maintains responsibility for this program and its contents. Important Notice: Those who attend the workshop and complete the CPA evaluation forms will receive up to 12.0 continuing education credits for both days (8 CE for CCE Update Training and 4 CE for DV Update Training). Please note that APA CE rules require that we give credit only to those who attend the entire workshop. Those arriving more than 15 minutes after the start time or leaving before the workshop is completed will not receive CE credits.

The course outline in the agenda for individually identified and referenced training sessions has been approved as corresponding to subject areas specified in California Rules of Court, rules 5.225(d)(1)-(3)(7)(9)(10)(13)-(15)(17)(20)(21), and 5.230(d)(1)(A)(v)(a)-(k). Credit may be applied to any SCCPA program or class for one year following date of issue. No credit or refund is available if you cancel on the first day of the program or class; if you do not show up; or if you leave an event early for any reason. No refund will be available if you attend a program and are dissatisfied with its presentation or content. By registering for this event, you acknowledge that your photo may be taken while at a SCCPA event.  If you do not want or allow your photo, image, or likeness to be used in SCCPA's marketing including social media, please notify the event organizer. SCCPA reserves the right to cancel a program at any time. If SCCPA cancels a program, you will receive a full refund.
